A picture says a thousand words! How true this is when looking at the photos from the Creating Cambridge Xmas party which happened last Friday 9th December.
(Thanks once again to Lina at LiquidPhoto for the splendid pics.)
People talking, greeting, smiling, laughing, pondering, eating and….having a great time. And even staying on after the last of the heroic organisers caved in and headed home! We’d like to once again thank all of you who joined us for this event, braving the harsh economic climate and general doom and gloom.
As organisers, we all have a slightly different view on the benefits of what Creating Cambridge does. For me it is about giving the many Cambridge professionals, freelancers and startups a chance to socialise and network with colleagues. But doing it in an informal and friendly setting. Where everyone can mingle, meet old friends and colleagues and be introduced to new ones. But also giving something back to others, as this year we did with your generous support for Magpas. Leaving aside the 3 minute pitches, and the quick-draw business card shootouts.
There were many groups & networks that helped promote the event, who deserve a huge thank-you once again. All these groups do a great job in their specific areas throughout the year. But what is special about Creating Cambridge is our desire to bring everyone together, sort of like a very special “social glue” that strengthens the whole community.
Obviously we must also thank our sponsors, without whom the event would not be possible. Felt sorry for the bony chap in the corner though. Did no-one remember to feed him?
We wish you all the best for Xmas and the New Year, and look forward to seeing you at our next event (Hint – it might be a BBQ….)
