BIG Summer BBQ 2015 – against all odds

burgerThere might be a bit of bad weather (hey, it’s England after all, not south of Spain), it might look more like October than July, it might rain a little and we might even get a little wet (although we have reserved space inside and also under the majestic roofed / umbrellas area outside)! But there’ll also be loads of delicious food, booze till the bar is empty and a fantastic delegates’ list amounting to almost 200! We’re certainly going to be there tonight and hope you’re too!

It’ll be great to see you all and together celebrate (hope for) the summer, celebrate business, celebrate entrepreneurship and celebrate Cambridge.

Announcing the BIG Summer BBQ 2015

We are pleased to announce the BIG Summer BBQ 2015 to be bigger and better than any of the previous ones.  If you are interested in technology, creativity ideas, bio-tech and friendly networking then come and join us, Creating Cambridge, on Friday 24 July at The Fort St. George (by the river, on Midsummer Common).

The previous 10 events were great successes: many of the people who attended asked us to keep organising these events so here we are. Romsey Mill is the charity for the BIG Xmas 2014

Following a tradition we established over the last few events we will offer to Romsey Mill all money raised through the raffle held on the night of the party as well as 15% of all group discounted tickets to the charity, thus involving the many groups and networks that support the event.

Groups supporting the BIG Xmas Party 2014: 5 good reasons why

DSCN2596When we first run our first event we decided to use the Creating Cambridge name as an independent organisation which only mission was to facilitate cross pollination of groups. Once people from different groups are gathered under the same roof they realise what else is out there and what amazing new conversations can be established.

Groups over the year have been promoting our events for the following reasons:

  1. finding out about what other groups do and how they operate
  2. cross pollination of people and ideas
  3. creating new collaborations and partnerships
  4. enjoying a pre-packaged party without having to organise it
  5. ensuring that even a minimum attendance to the Christmas Party has its contribution

We often stress the first 3 points when we talk to group organiser but I will spend a bit of attention to the last two this time. Many organisers are very busy and organising a Xmas party is more than trivial; decent venues are often pre-booked and expensive and you need a minimum number of people to ensure the critical mass to have a party.

The Big Xmas Party allows members of a group to simply join the party and network with their fellow members.  Also if a group has even just 2 or 3 people who would like a party but, for the reason described above, it’s difficult to organise one the BIG Xmas Party is the perfect environment for this people to blend in with others and have a great time.
